SoMad is thrilled to share that we’ll be taking part in NADA New York 2025, to be held May 7–11, 2025 at The Starrett-Lehigh Building in Chelsea. We’ve planned a paired exhibition to showcase Paul Simon and Soraya Zaman two distinct, compelling artists we are proud to have nurtured and supported within our space. Their works create a dialogue of solidity and translucency, surface and depth, while exploring the fluidity of perception and the familiarity of the unfamiliar.

We’re grateful to be one of the 111 galleries (from 19 countries and 50 cities) exhibiting at the fair, which will also feature NADA Presents, the organization’s signature programming series of conversations, performances, and events.
Paul Simon, also known as notpaulsimon, is a Romanian-American artist living and working in Brooklyn, New York. As a sculptor with a background in human biology and commercial photography, Simon creates a fantastical world in which materialities are present and absent, both hiding in plain sight and as objects of the digital imaginary.
Born in Southern California and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, Simon graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 2016. Soon after, he moved to New York City and received his MFA in Photography from the School of Visual Arts (2019).
Soraya Zaman’s art practice centers exploring concepts of identity and the nuanced intersections of personal and collective narratives, through intimate portraiture, still life, and experimentation throughout photographic mediums.
As one of two artists selected for SoMad’s inaugural Artist Residency program, Soraya delved into still life and mixed media, pushing their artistic boundaries and integrating sculptural elements into their work. Their current series, PRIME, reflects a refined engagement with materiality and form, offering a socially resonant perspective on contemporary visual art.
