Continuum gathers a melange of performance artists over two sets as a continuation of SoMad production resident Amygdala’s brainchild, the Pleasure Dome. Sparkling streams of consciousness will coalesce into one larger shared consciousness. It’s our deep pleasure, and it’ll soon be yours, too.
Pleasure Dome: Continuum is a variety show in two casts that invites its performers to get personal and specific in longer form numbers meant to engage the audience with work that builds toward a cohesive larger narrative. Pleasure-forward in nature, this live series considers time as liquid, viscous, elliptical, and cyclical, and promises to suspend viewers in one-off space-time constructions that you’d simply have to be there to understand.
October Cast
—Amygdala, AKA Amy, is a multidisciplinary artist and curator that merges fashion, writing, installation, and time based media into immersive audiovisual performances. She is also a 2026 SoMad artist-in-residence.
—Julie J is a drag queen, writer, and interdisciplinary artist based in New York City. Julie J’s created work focuses on cultural insertion, relationships between history and identity, and the tactics of escape utilized by marginalized bodies.
—final girl ‘98, AKA Maxi Hawkeye Canion, is a performance artist based in Brooklyn, originally from El Paso, TX. Her series of works, piloted by personas known as “doom mascots,” present as radical fantasies, surreal disruptions, decomposing realities, and ruptures of so-called normalcy.
—RuAfza (she/her) is a multidisciplinary artist and drag performer born in India and based in Lenapehoking/Brooklyn. Her work explores the figure of the showgirl as a site of spectacle, labor, and survival under capitalism, drawing on her trans, desi, and immigrant identity and her collaborative worldmaking in nightlife spaces.

—Selena Surreal (joining for October 7) is a Brooklyn-born, raised, and based performance artist, drag apparition, showrunner, femcee, & the only Black transfemme sideshow artist in NYC. Known as the Serpent Siren of the Sideshow, she is the co-founder & mother of the Black Cherry Sideshow, the first all BIPOC, all Trans Circus Sideshow troupe in the history of the world.
—DiDi Opulence (joining for October 8) is the most opulent doll—period. Her burlesque style combines old school glamour with ‘90s sex appeal, all while teasing you with her sultry eyes.

—Angel is an experimental multidisciplinary artist who bridges fashion, electronic music and performance art to explore the complexities of her trans identity. Self-titled as ‘the transsexual that fell to earth,’ her identity is the sole shaper of her work, in which she strives to be provocative and politically charged, representing the trans community with the utmost pride.
—Tyler Ashley, AKA The Dauphine, is a dance, drag, and performance artist. High-energy numbers and sustained vamps on the mike are two of her signature skills out of a varied showgirl tool set.
—The Illustrious Pearl, AKA Wo Chan, is a poet and drag artist. She has performed widely as a member of the Brooklyn-based drag/burlesque collective Switch N’ Play.
Plus two CONTINUUM feature artists who have previously performed in PLEASURE DOME:
C’était Bontemps (joining for November 18) is based in Brooklyn, NY, with a career spanning over thirteen years. C’était has been featured in iconic lineups across the world, and the continued aim of their art and broader work is to platform trans art on as many stages as they’re able.
—Mocha (joining for November 19) is a NYC-based drag queen known for vibrant performances and dynamic presence in the city’s queer arts and nightlife scene. With roots in Brooklyn, Mocha combines theatricality, and musicality, captivating audiences with her unique blend of glamour and wit.
About Amygdala
Amygdala - colloquially Amy — is a multidisciplinary artist and curator that merges fashion, writing, installation, and time based media into immersive audiovisual performances. Informed by her eclectic experiences as a drag performer, archivist, nanny, and freelancer in New York, her work explores the prismatic abstraction of the self and its potential to reveal intuitive circuits of interconnection between individuals and within one’s personal history. Existing between glitch and glamour, the material and immaterial, and the mythical and mundane, collaboration is essential to her practice. She’s presented work at Brooklyn Art Haus, Grace Exhibition Space, New Art Ways, Judson Memorial Church, and La Mama Experimental Theatre Club.
Featured in Rachel Rampleman’s “Life is Drag” exhibition in 2025, she is a 2026 artist in residence at SoMad. In June, she curated “So Mad, So Queer,” SoMad’s annual pride event, with a delectable assortment of nightlife tastemakers. For the Fall 2026 season, she will present “Pleasure Dome,” her recurring experimental variety show, in its first ever multi-night run exploring the radical pursuit of pleasure in all its multiplicity. She received a BFA in Design History and Practice from Parsons School of Design in 2023.
