Mad Pride 2024 promises music, dance, performance, sculptures, pole dance, video projection, drag, and more (with a dance party at the end of the night, of course). You can also snag SoMad zines and goodies, jewelry, and delicious treats from our shop setup. On music, we’ll have Lester Mayers performing “A Phenomenal F*ggot’s Medley” and Felix III combining soothing soundscapes and high energy dance music. Lee Gumbs has a pole dance number prepared, while Xanawhoria’s drag performance promises Mexican folkloric references plus blood, slime, or both! Untitled and Jess A Mess mix sound and visuals to create striking cultural commentary, and lastly, we’ve got Dinahfire and Brik (AKA THE RAGE) on DJ duty.

Ash Hagerstrand’s sculptural piece is a love letter to gyms and exercise studios as spaces where same sex attraction / appreciation is explored and taboos surrounding body, gender, and sexuality are traversed. Rachel Rampleman's project "Life is Drag" documents the most innovative and singular performers currently exploding onto the national alt-drag and neo-burlesque scenes, comprising 350+ video portraits. Paul Simon rounds us out with his neon light sculptures, through which he creates a fantastical world in which materialities are present and absent, both hiding in plain sight and as objects of the digital imaginary.
