Dear film and video whizzes: Earth needs YOU to take part in Mad World at SoMad! Mad World is a multifaceted gathering meant to spotlight sustainability, local community, and resilience by bringing artists together for conversations focusing on our beautiful home planet. This year's theme is Queer Ecologies.
Programming will include a film screening loop highlighting artwork relating to the Earth and environment. We encourage finished original experimental short form content under 30 minutes. Films will be projected on a 10x16ft screen.
Selected artists will receive a one time $150 screening fee and two free tickets to the event.
Mad World '25 will take place at SoMad, 34 E 23rd St on April 26, 2025. A full programming schedule will be available online closer to the event.
Applications are due March 10th at 11:59pm. Selected participants will be notified by March 20th.
